Pediatric and adolescent surgery consultations in Zurich

We are now offering a pediatric and adolescent surgery consultation at our Zurich location.

The consultation is conducted by Dr. Imke Grossmann, a specialist in pediatric and adolescent surgery FMH. She is an experienced pediatric and adolescent surgeon with many years of experience at the Children’s Hospital Zurich and other clinics in Germany and Switzerland.

The range of services includes the following in particular:

  • Inguinal hernia (hernia inguinalis) and hydrocele (hydrocele testis)
  • Foreskin constriction (phimosis)
  • Undescended testicles (retentio testis)
  • Umbilical hernias (hernia umbilicalis) and abdominal wall hernias (hernia epigastrica)
  • Interventions on the skin and subcutaneous tissue (e.g. moles, warts, cysts, foreign bodies)
  • Ear appendages and preauricular fistulas
  • Ingrown toenail (unguis incarnatus)

For consultation hours and pre- and post-operative care, you conclude a treatment contract with Swiss Medi Kids and also receive the invoice from Swiss Medi Kids.

Potential outpatient operations performed during consultation hours are carried out by Dr. med. Imke Grossmann as part of her independent work at the Opera Hirslanden surgical center in Zumikon. This treatment contract is not concluded with Swiss Medi Kids and is not invoiced by Swiss Medi Kids.

Patients of all ages can be referred, operations are usually offered from the age of 1. Follow-up care can be provided by your pediatrician or by us.

About Dr. med. Imke Grossmann

Dr. med. Imke Grossmann is a specialist in pediatric and adolescent surgery FMH with many years of experience.

After studying medicine in Hamburg, Germany, she specialized in pediatric surgery and worked at major clinics in Switzerland, most notably the Children’s Hospital in Zurich. As a mother of two children, she knows the worries and needs of parents from her own experience and attaches great importance to sensitive and professional treatment. She is a member of several professional associations, including the Swiss Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Surgery (SGKC), the German Society for Pediatric Surgery (DGKJCH), the Medical Association of the Canton of Zurich (AGZ) and the Swiss Medical Association (FMH).
